Aussies love the outside, so do we. But while we are a bit primitive with our tiny tent, the Aussies bring all the luxuries they have at home with them while camping (from satellite discs to special outside toilet tents to barbeques on wheels, some even tow a small car with them) and they are proud of it too. The other day I was passing another one of these monstrous motor homes at the park where we set up our humble tent the night before. I stretched my neck and looked up to see if this thing actually did had a roof. I shouldn’t have done that. Just when I wanted to walk on, the owner of the caravan rushed out fulminating “Hey mate! You where looking at the ‘Van’ now weren’t you? Come on in and I’ll show you around!” and he grabbed me by the arm.
Before I knew it, I was standing in his property he and his wife must have been saving up for all their lives (ending up with their thongs in the shared toilets). The owner explained the Van in full detail to me: “So here you have our dishwasher, there is the build-in computer with broadband internet, third door on the left you’ll find the amenities and look at this: what do you think this is?” Uh… a table? I replied. “Haha! You think it is huh, but look at this…”. He lowered the table a bit and put some cushions on it that he had grabbed out the closet. “You see!” he said with a big grin on his face “It’s a bed now!”.

... maar happy people hebben nog wel een paar fotootjes! Zoals up&close met de zeeleeuwen in een kelp forest, weer een fabulous beach, of een steile wandeling eindigend op loodrechte kliffen van 250 meter (en dan met Tasmaanse windstoten...) check de fotootjes dan maar ;)
